Canada's First Nations artists are inspired by the imagery and techniques of their ancestors, often blending the old traditions with a new contemporary vision. Here are a few of the many wonderful designs we are proud to represent. They represent traditions from the northwest coast of British Columbia, Haida, Ojibwa, Cree, and Inuit peoples of Canada.

Bill Reid Framed Prints

One of Canada's foremost artists, Haida artist Bill Reid has been proclaimed a national treasure and was instrumental in inspiring Native people to reclaim their cultural heritage. Each 8 1/2" x 6" debossed gold, silver or copper foil print is double matted and framed in a colour-coordinating metal frame. Artist's bio and a few words about the imagery are on the back.
Gold images: The Raven Steals the Salmon, The Bear Mother, The Raven & First Men, The Eagle & the Frog.

Talking Stick

North American Indians have long used the Talking Stick as a means of encouraging open communication. Whoever holds the Talking Stick has within his hands the sacred power of words and commands the attention of everyone in the assembly.
This talking stick is rich with symbolic and inspirational meaning. The eagle represents courage, the wolf, new ideas and wisdom. The feather of the turkey - the "peace eagle" - inspires a peaceful attitude and the give-and-take necessary to resove disputes. The fluffs are a reminder that words must come from the heart.
Each talking stick is individually hand carved from yellow cedar by Native wood carver Henry Pelletier and artisans of the Ojibwa Nation.
The wings swivel for compact tube shipping - makes for an ideal mailer.
